This is the song from Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Akon called 'Kush'. We can see from the beginning of the video they have a mood/close-up shot of Dr Dre in the car with the lighter. This already shows the audience what the song is going to be about. Within the first 10 seconds the setting of the video changes into a location shot. This is already showing two shots they have already set up, there may be many more to come throughout the video.
This is another close up shot from the video of Snoop dogg. This close up/mood shot portrays his facial expressions and gets a clear image of the star himself at that particular moment throughout the video.
This close up shot of the dj in the video has a purpose behind it. the headphones are Dr Dre's branded headphones. This close up shot promotes the brand as well.
This is the video from American rapper T.I. called 'Whatever you like' All through this video there are a variety of location shots being used.
This is a great example of location shot from the video. The camera angle gets a great image of both of them and gets a clear image of the actual location they are in.
This is another example of a location shot. The reason as to why its a great location shot is because as well as having himself in the video it also has the cars in the background also shows his status and his wealth.
From the location we can see that T.I is selling himself and showing the high life that he lives and his status. In the background we can see that there is a party going on and the camera is focused on him showing that he is the main person everyone should be having their eyes on. Another way in how we can see that he is the main person is by the clothes that he is wearing. He has a nice shirt and also a pair of 'flashy' sunglasses. This music video will mainly been broadcasted in music channels such as MTV base, Flava and Kiss.
This is the first pin up shot i have noticed in the video of Wiz Khalifa which is in the first 25 seconds of the video. The shot is aimed directly at the artitst's face so that we can get a clear image of how he is smoking and what the sing is about.
This is another shot of Wiz Khalifa as a main pin up shot. We can see that maybe the director has only focused on placing pin up shots in the video and not showing the rest of their body.

This is a live performance from Chris Brown and various other artists that are featured in the song. Even when they are not making a music video they perform live in the concert and create a great buzz!
This is Chris Brown performing his part of the song on the stage. We can see that in this shot they are on stage and also there are backing dancers with him to follow the routine of the song and make that slight bit of excitement.
This is the point where the other featured artist Busta Rhymes comes into the stage to perform his verse. We can see in this shot that it is very busy and everyones eyes is on them. We can also see that there are many camera recording them at the same time. This is showing that they're getting a lot of publicity as well.
This is the music video from the singing sensation Olly Murs called 'Oh My Goodness'. The reason why i have chosen this video is because we can see many surprise shots been taken in this video.
This is a clear shot which i have spotted in the first 12 seconds of the video of a surprise shot. He was taken away by seeing a girl who has attracted him. It looks as if though it was not planned out and the camera caught him in the moment.
This is another shot where the camera has caught out Olly Murs in surprise. In a normal video we wouldn't see them being caught out like this. It is mainly all set up.
This is a great shot of a surprise shot. Not of the artist but of the girl that he is attracted to who also plays a main role in this video. Many other artists we see nowadays have their music videos all set out and will hardly catch them on a surprise shot. The fact that the director has chosen to show Olly Murs like this is a smart way to show off his personality and he is not afraid to act himself in music videos. This can also show to the public that he isn't just the contestant that came of X Factor and hasn't done anything after leaving the contest, he has carried on doing his music and has become successful.
I will now talk about the pictures that i have taken of the 5 types of shots with my group and analyze them and talk about how it works with the photo.
This is one of the photos that was taken which was our candid shot. We have achieved this with the two people in my group Salman and Mustafa. We made it out so that it looks like they have no clue that a photo was being taken of them. This makes the photo better. If they acted like they knew photo was being taken of them they would have acted differently towards the camera.
This is the shot we took of our live performance shot. I personally think this photo worked really well as we took the picture from behind of the fans listening to them. We also placed the singer on a table so that we can show that they have more of a higher status.
This is an example of a pin up shot. We can see in this picture we have only inserted the shoulders, face and arms and left out the rest of the body. The main purpose of this shot is that so we can get a clear image of the person themselves.
This is an example of my classmate Salman in the location shot. The reason why i would class this as the location shot and how it works is that we can see the setting of the place. He is clearly based on the table so we can get a clear image of where he is. In order for that we displayed the background and where he is sitting and also his whole body is displayed in the photo.
This is the image from another group which i really like and would class as the mood shot. The reason as to why i would class it the mood shot is because it shows the characters facial expressions and his style of music. The bandana which is used a prop is portraying his style in music and the way he is also leaning on the bench shows that he is more of a laid back and chilled out artist. This photo could also show off the artists personality as well.
